Real feedback from people training with us in London and across the UK
I started training with Quroki six months ago with zero experience. The instructor breaks down each technique step by step, making it easy to understand the mechanics. What impressed me most was the focus on proper form rather than rushing through movements. I've noticed significant improvement in my balance and coordination. The classes are challenging but never overwhelming.
Best decision I made this year. The training sessions are intense and exactly what I needed.
Good training program overall. The instructor is knowledgeable and the techniques taught are practical. I appreciate the structured curriculum. My only suggestion would be to have more sparring sessions, as we currently have them once a month. The price is fair for what you get.
I had been looking for a martial arts instructor who could work with my schedule, as I travel frequently for work. The flexibility offered here is outstanding - I can book sessions when I'm in town and the instructor remembers exactly where we left off. The one-on-one attention means I'm learning at my own pace without feeling rushed or held back by a group. After three months, I successfully graded to my first belt. The investment has been worth every penny, especially considering the personalized attention and rapid progress.
Decent training sessions with solid fundamentals. The instructor knows the material well and explains things clearly. I've been attending for two months and have learned basic strikes and blocks. The facility could use better equipment - some of the pads are quite worn. Also, the scheduling system can be a bit confusing at times. That said, the actual teaching quality is good and I'm seeing progress.
My 14-year-old son has been training here for four months. His confidence has grown noticeably and he's more disciplined at home. Highly recommend for teenagers.
I switched from another martial arts school and immediately noticed the difference in teaching quality. The attention to detail is exceptional. Each session builds logically on the previous one, and the instructor corrects even minor mistakes in stance or hand position. This level of precision has helped me unlearn bad habits I picked up elsewhere. The sessions are physically demanding but the warm-up and cool-down routines prevent injuries.
Very professional service and the instructor clearly has years of experience. The techniques are authentic and well-explained. I've been training for five weeks now. My only minor complaint is that sometimes sessions start 5-10 minutes late, which cuts into the training time when you have a tight schedule. Otherwise, excellent value and I'm learning a lot.
As someone who works in a stressful corporate environment, these training sessions have become essential for my mental health. The physical aspect is obvious - I'm in the best shape I've been in years. But what surprised me was the mental clarity that comes from focusing completely on technique for an hour. The instructor emphasizes the philosophical aspects of martial arts alongside the physical training, which adds depth to the practice. I've recommended this to three colleagues already.
Started training three weeks ago after recovering from a knee injury. The instructor modified exercises to accommodate my limitations while still providing an effective workout. The approach is patient and safety-focused, which was exactly what I needed. I'm regaining strength and mobility faster than expected.

Founded in 2012, Quroki has established itself as a dedicated training center for martial arts enthusiasts across London. Our facility on Richmond Road serves students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners seeking to refine their technique.
What began as a small dojo with eight students has grown into a comprehensive training facility serving over 150 active members. The founder, Master Chen Wei, brought 23 years of experience in Kung Fu, Karate, and Taekwondo from Beijing to London, recognizing the need for authentic instruction rooted in traditional principles.
The first year focused exclusively on Kung Fu fundamentals. By 2014, we expanded to include Karate and Taekwondo programs. In 2017, we moved to our current 280-square-meter facility, equipped with proper training mats, equipment, and separate areas for different disciplines.
Opened first location in Hackney with focus on Kung Fu instruction
Added Karate and Taekwondo programs with certified instructors
Relocated to expanded facility on Richmond Road
Introduced online training sessions and hybrid learning options
Our mission centers on providing structured instruction in traditional martial arts while adapting teaching methods to modern learning needs. We aim to make these disciplines accessible to London residents who want to develop physical fitness, mental discipline, and self-defense skills.
Looking ahead, we plan to establish partnerships with schools in Hackney and Tower Hamlets to introduce youth programs by 2025. We're also developing specialized classes for adults over 50, recognizing the health benefits these practices offer across all age groups.
Our team includes four full-time instructors, each holding black belt certifications and teaching credentials from recognized international federations. Master Chen Wei holds 6th Dan in Kung Fu, while our Karate instructor Sarah Thompson competed at national level for 12 years before transitioning to teaching. Our Taekwondo program is led by James Park, who trained at the Kukkiwon in Seoul for five years.
We maintain affiliations with the British Kung Fu Association, English Karate Federation, and British Taekwondo Council. This ensures our curriculum meets current standards and our students can participate in sanctioned competitions if they choose.
We teach traditional forms and techniques as they were developed, without dilution or commercialization. Each movement has purpose and history.
Students advance based on demonstrated skill mastery, not time served. We assess each person's development through practical application and understanding.
Our dojo maintains traditional etiquette while fostering supportive relationships. Senior students mentor newcomers, creating a community of mutual growth.
Our instructors regularly attend seminars and training sessions to refine their knowledge. We incorporate new teaching methods while preserving core principles.
